I'll dominate 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
